I can think of two possibilites: macho monkey robbed the bin so ranger put the lid on to stop him …. or macho monkey climbed in and then the ranger put the lid on – which would you prefer? To be prevented from doing more mischief, or to be trapped by it? Psalm 86:5 puts it this way: “For You, Lord, are good and ready to forgive; and abundant in mercy to all who call upon you.”
