Years ago when I was in charge of Children’s Church I organized a pantomime to entertain the children at their Christmas party. We put on “Cinderalfred” and turned the story of Cinderella upside down. We had such fun and each played our parts with gusto.
(I’m not sure what the kids made of it!)
We easily slip into playing parts, don’t we? “I’ll do Christmas Dinner this year – it’s okay really!” Really? And on and on and on. But we can never playact with Jesus. He looks upon the heart – and wants the genuine thing for Himself. He has no room for counterfeit – and we praise Him for that.
