Granny takes my husband Brian and his brother and mother on a generous overseas tour. It is the time of the Coronation of Elizabeth ll and so Granny buys a present for each of her grandsons. I don’t know what she gave Ian but I do know what she gave 7 year old Brian – a “Coronation Bible”! It is dated 1953. In the front of it I read, “In the Coronation Service a Bible is presented to Her Majesty the Queen with the following words: ‘We present you with this book, the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is wisdom: this is the royal law: these are the lively oracles of God’.” The most valuable thing thethat this world affords? Amen! Together with the Person of Jesus? Amen again as it is His gift to us.So I ask you what could be more wonderful?
