“My Mum has been sick for a long time.” He picks up a little cloth: “Then give her one of these.” Shirley comes away from the conference and pops the cloth in the post for me. Now, I can’t tell you how many years later, I come across it in a less used bible. Tenderness and recall follow the surprise. How sweet Shirley’s concern for me still tastes. It speaks to me of an act of love from one I love dearly who did something precious about my trouble all those years ago.
Actually
throughout my life again and again there have been such precious acts of love from God that blessed me deeply. Those I chance upon
again I treasure afresh as from One I love dearly.
And who loved me and will go on loving me.
