In 2005 Teri takes me round Washington. We have been students together at Regent University and I’m on my way to Virginia Beach to start a new course. We pull up beside the Ptomac River. I’m fascinated by three statues emerging from the ground. The first if of a face, the second of the chin area, and the third of a hand stretching and curling its fingers. I do not know exactly what the artist intended to say. To me it speaks of us emerging from darkness and disaster. It speaks of Roman’s 8 and of us being conformed to the likeness of Christ. Surely then it speaks of the greatest victory!
