What a charming ornament to put on your window sill – to love again, every time you walk past and open you front door. Who knows when it charmed the owner of this little house in Isafjordur in Iceland to that point that it prompted them – probably her – to lovingly arrange it in the window! It certainly charmed me enough to take this pic. Behind glass as it is, it’s not very clear, but then the story behind it is not very clear either. No matter! What does matter is that this little guy, even upside down, manifests tenderness and care – from someone, for someone, because of someone, or even, perhaps, in spite of someone. And such caring is the work of Jesus in the human heart. He creates caring in us – something like His own – He who loved enough to care about the sins of the whole world and their essential eradication. And as a result we’re no longer upside down – are we?
