Every time I look at this pic I get blanketed with joy. This is about friendship deep and true. This is about sharing and laughter and also about really being there for each other. So many giggles and nonsense – and also so much being there for each other when life cuts deep. Tonia cared for Shirley during the eleven months of her cancer, took her for healing and prayer and eventually conducted our daughter’s memorial service, ten years ago now. Today we’re asking questions about each other’s futures together, sharing pics of her first grandchild and just there for each other – that’s what this thing called friendship is: invented by God, made real to us through Jesus and one of the most wonderful things Jesus gives us. Oh Lord, thank you for all my friends!
