Dear Shirley, it is now eight years since you began your rejoicing in heaven. This pic shows your preparations for the last dinner you cooked – with your dad and I as your guests.
And now I have cancer too. On Monday they operate to remove the tumor from my bowel. Because it is still contained and there are no mets the prognosis looks good.
I never thought I would share the cancer experience first hand with you – the horror of being told you have cancer, for a start. Strangely enough my first thought was, “Now I know what this feels like – no longer from outside but inside and with Shirley.”
Many times I have shared your testimony and given out the book I wrote about it – but I never though you would help me too.- now – by your example, but you do. Thank you so very much, my darling daughter.
